About the festival
SONify! is a festival of music that presents the artistic production developed by musicians and students of the Doctoral School for Artistic Research at the KUG.
In a special combination of concert formats, informal short talks, and other forms of exchange, the festival offers the opportunity to experience artistic exploration and knowledge directly. Ranging from performance to composition, new music to renaissance, classical to jazz, it opens space for dialogue between art production and scientific research, and between researchers, artists, and the public.
The first edition of SONify! took place in May 2019. This second edition had to be adapted to the current conditions imposed on the world by the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival will take place in a reduced format, with only four concerts. These will be distributed in four separated dates, starting on 10th and 12th of February 2021, and continuing in March 26. The concerts will be streamed live by the KUG. The links for accessing the streaming will be provided under each concert in the Program tab, and also in the News tab for each upcoming event. Possibilities of attending in-person public in the concerts of March onwards will be subject to the COVID regulations at the time, and will be announced in the News tab.
Art, like knowledge, should be accessible to all: thus, admission to all SONify! concerts and events is free of charge.
